The Eagle Creek Watershed Group is a producer-run, non-profit organization that has been committed to environmental stewardship, education, and delivery of agri-environmental programming in west central Saskatchewan since 2008. As a major part of our operations, we have partnered with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture to promote and help clients apply for the Farm Stewardship Program and the Farm and Ranch Water Infrastructure Program (FRWIP) for many years.

This April, our group and the other watershed stewardship groups in Saskatchewan were informed that contracts with the Ministry of Agriculture to administer these programs would not be renewed. The Ministry of Agriculture will be providing services for the Farm Stewardship Program and FRWIP going forward.

It has been our pleasure to work with you in the past, and we wish you all the best. If you have questions regarding the Eagle Creek Watershed Group, please contact one of our board members listed below.

Our Mission

We strive to promote environmental beneficial management practices to protect and enhance the EagleCreek Watershed in Saskatchewan.

We work closely with area producers, RMs, the Ministry of Agriculture and private businesses to maintain the health of the watershed so that it will continue to function effectively and provide safe water for all to enjoy.

There are 21 RMs in west central Saskatchewan that are part of the overall watershed. What is its health like and what are some of the important issues?

There are three important players living in the watershed; agriculture, industry and communities. All three function as a result of this healthy watershed and depend on its future health.

How are we doing as stewards of our watershed? Are there things we can do to improve its health going forward? More and more we are living in a regulated environment. Regulations generally be- come more restrictive as a result of some catastrophe. Yes, we have a healthy watershed and luckily we have the freedom of few regulations on how we enjoy our livelihood. So, let’s not screw this up for future generations. Everyone of us has a responsibility to be proper stewards, our children depend on it!
